Connor Onion is the “TV Voice of the Southern Illinois Salukis.”
Onion handles the ESPN+ play-by-play for football, men's basketball, women’s basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball. He also calls Saluki Football, Basketball & Baseball on the Saluki Radio Network & spent the 2017-18 & 2018-19 seasons as the "Play-By-Play Voice of Saluki Women's Basketball."
During baseball season, Onion also calls games for the Kane County Cougars, the Single-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, a position he’s held since 2018. He began his broadcasting career in 2017 as a play-by-play broadcaster for the Quad Cities River Bandits, the Single-A Affiliate of the Houston Astros.
A 2017 graduate of Ball State University, Onion was a named one of the top collegiate broadcasters in the country by Sportscasters Talent Agency of America.
